Riparian zones data include transition areas between terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems with distinct hydrological, soil and biotic conditions that are strongly influenced by flowing river water. Green Linear Elements (GLE) data are ecologically significant structural elements of the landscape that are important for the study of biodiversity. GLE data consists of hedges and tree lines longer than 100m and up to 10m wide; individual areas of trees or shrubs, ranging from 500 m² to 0.5 ha. Data created with European Union funding.
