Volume III of the Lithuanian National Atlas reflects the political, economic, social, cultural and historical changes that took place at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries. The atlas consists of six large chapters illustrating the development of the country's administrative division in the late twentieth and early twentieth centuries; population dynamics, ethnic structure, professed religions and prevailing political attitudes; the social status of the country's population and its development in recent decades; the economic condition of the country, the development of agriculture and forestry; mining and developing industries; the country's transport system, passenger and freight transport, forms and scope of communication services.
