The data set of Lithuanian wetlands and peatlands was created in 2018 in the framework of the project “Reduction of CO2 emissions by restoring drained and degrading peatlands in the plains of Northern Europe”. The data set was created by the Natural Heritage Fund under an agreement with the Lithuanian Fund for Nature. To create the set, use the most detailed 2017-2018. spatial data on Lithuanian wetlands and peatlands and their condition. For the purposes of this assessment, peatlands are considered to be land areas with a peat layer thickness of at least 0.5 m, while wetlands are considered to be only non-drained peatlands. The collection includes wetlands and peatlands, data on the type of peat layer, peat quarries and mining areas, ditch and drainage peatlands and their condition, forested areas and other land uses, protected areas in wetlands and peatlands and natural habitats of European importance. The sources used to compile the data set are specified in the data set specification, which can be found here: https://www.geoportal.lt/download/Specifikacijos/Lietuvos_pelkiu_ir_durpynu_DB_atnaujinimas_2017-2018_GPF.pdf

The Corine Land Cover (CLC) database is a pan-European vector land cover data set divided into 44 classes (covering 30 classes in Lithuania) according to the type of land cover and its intended use. Currently, five data sets have been developed (for 1990, 2000, 2006, 2012 and 2018) describing the land cover for the year in question and the land cover changes since the previous database. CLC12_LT is a revised and adjusted 2012 land cover database. The refinement of this database took place through the interpretation of the 2012 IRS satellite imagery. The CHA18_LT change database is compiled by entering land cover changes between 2012 and 2017. The creation of this database took place through the interpretation of the 2012-2013 IRS satellite images and the 2017 Sentinel - 2 satellite images. CLC18_LT is created by automatically merging the CLC12_LT and CHA18_LT databases. The smallest mapped object in the database of changes CHA18_LT - for 5 ha area objects, maintaining the minimum 100 m object width.

Riparian zones data include transition areas between terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems with distinct hydrological, soil and biotic conditions that are strongly influenced by flowing river water. Land cover and use are classified according to the biodiversity monitoring needs in an adapted buffer zone around major and medium-sized European rivers (Strahler level 3-8, obtained from the EU-Hydro dataset). The classes in the Riparian Zones dataset correspond to a nomenclature consisting of MAES ecosystem types (levels 1 to 4) and Corine land cover thematic classes (classes 80) with a minimum mapping unit of 0.5 ha and a minimum site width of 10 m. During the Copernicus program, the European Environment Agency coordinated the production of the Riparian Zones kit. Urban Atlas data provide information on the land cover and land use in 2012 in the six largest cities of Lithuania (Vilnius, Kaunas, Panevėžys, Alytus, Šiauliai, Klaipėda) and their surrounding territories. The technical specification of the data can be found here: https://land.copernicus.eu/user-corner/technical-library/urban-atlas-2012-mapping-guide-new. The Urban Atlas is based on statistical image classification and visual interpretation of very high resolution satellite images. The input data are: multispectral SPOT 5, SPOT 6 and Formosat-2 pan-sharpened photographs with resolutions of 2 and 2.5 m. The following Urban Atlas data are supplemented with attribute information on land use according to the EAGLE table: https://land.copernicus.eu/eagle/content-documentation-of-the-eagle-concept/manual/content-documentation-of-the- eagle-concept / b-thematic-content-and-definitions-of-eagle-model-elements / part-ii-land-use-attributes Data created with European Union funding.
